Personal Day 3: expression

A day of words and lightness. What you say carries further than usual today, so talk about what matters. Personal Day 3 is about words and joy: it helps whoever shares.

A Personal Day is worked out from your date of birth and today's date, and it runs in a cycle from 1 to 9. Below: what to spend such a day on, what to avoid, and how it shows in work, relationships and travel.

What kind of day it is

Today it is good to be among people. Share, show, join in.

A day for joy for its own sake. Work goes more easily today when there is pleasure in it.

What to do on a Personal Day 3

  • Say what you have long meant to
  • Invite someone round
  • Make something with your hands
  • Praise someone in front of others
  • Write to someone who is waiting
  • Show your work

What to avoid

  • Promises made on the run
  • Talking about people behind their backs
  • Juggling five things at once
  • Shopping to lift your mood
  • Jokes in place of an answer
  • Keeping your news to yourself

Morning, evening and best hours

This morning, write to or ring someone you feel like talking to.

This evening is for people: a visit, a walk, a phone call.

The best hours of a Personal Day 3 are 12:00–14:00. That is the time to give to the main thing of the day.

Work

Words do the work today. Whatever needs explaining, proposing or showing, do it now: you put things clearly today. It is a good day to put your case to whoever makes the decision. Monotonous jobs drag, so break them up with conversation.

A light touch helps today. A hard question is settled faster over a cup of tea than across a desk. If what you do involves people, you have the advantage: you are good company today. Just watch what you agree to: in a good mood a month's work sounds easy.

Relationships

Today is the time for words. Say the warm thing that usually goes without saying. A compliment, a thank-you or a shared joke means more than a present today. It is a good day to go out with someone and laugh.

You are at your most charming today, and it shows. If you are single, go where people gather: it is easy to strike up a conversation. If you have a partner, do not spend all your charm on strangers; keep the best of it for home.

Travel

Getting about is a pleasure today. The journey flies by in company, so bring a companion or be ready to chat. It is a good day for an outing to the countryside, a visit, a fair or a concert. Watch the time: deep in conversation, it is easy to miss your stop or the last bus home.

Today you are drawn to places that are beautiful and busy. Go: the day is rich in new sights. Take a camera, or just your phone, and take pictures. At markets and souvenir stalls, walk once round and look before you decide: it is easy to come home with things you do not need.

How to tell that today is your Personal Day 3

A Personal Day takes three steps. First, the Personal Year: add your birth month, your birth day and the current year, reducing each to a single digit, then reduce the total to a single digit.

Next, the Personal Month: add the number of the current month to the Personal Year and reduce again. Finally, the Personal Day: add today's calendar date to the Personal Month and reduce to a single digit.

Example: Personal Month 5 and the 12th give 17, and 1 + 7 = 8. That is a Personal Day 8. The next day is a 9, then a 1 again.

Questions

How often does a Personal Day 3 come round?

Personal Days run in a cycle from 1 to 9, so a Personal Day 3 returns about every nine days. At the turn of the month the order shifts, because the Personal Month changes.

Is the Personal Day the same for everyone?

No. It is worked out from your date of birth, so on the same calendar day different people have different Personal Days. The number shared by everyone is called the Universal Day, which is a different number.

How is a Personal Day different from a Personal Year?

A Personal Year sets the theme for twelve months, a Personal Month for one month, and a Personal Day describes the tone of a single day. The shorter the period, the more practical the advice: what to do today and what to leave.

Can I get my Personal Day every day?

Yes. A MyNum subscription sends a letter about your day in the morning, or the evening before. The first 5 days are free, with no card.
